Franklin Township's Zoning/Building Codes Department

 

The Zoning Officer is appointed by the Board of Supervisors on an annual basis. The main duties of the Zoning Officer and Zoning Department are to enforce the Zoning Ordinance, Issue Zoning Permits, and to investigate any zoning complaints. Franklin Township also has a Zoning Hearing Board which is comprised of three township residents and two alternate members, each serving a three year term. Members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors. Their duties include hearing requests for variances from the Zoning Ordinance and/or requests for special exceptions, and to render decisions on whether or not to grant said requests. An application fee is required, this information can be obtained through the Zoning Officer.

 

Zoning Hours: Zoning Hours are available every Monday between the hours of 4:00pm and 6:00pm at the Franklin Township Administration Building. Hours are also available upon request, to schedule an appointment call 610-395-3827.

 

Zoning Hearing Board Meetings:  Zoning Hearing Board Meetings are held on the Third Thursday of each month at 7:00pm at the Franklin Township Administration Building (Please Note Meetings are on an As-Needed Basis and to review the Township Calendar to see when a meeting is scheduled).
